An unusual vintage wall hung or free standing display case with a hinged & glazed door, the top with a silver King George VI monogram, and dating to around the second quarter of the 20th century. The case has an arched top front with a (later) applied silver George VI monogram, it's original bevelled glass, and hinges open to access the baize lined interior which has 4 small brass hanging hooks - I've no idea what purpose the case was made for - possibly medal display, etc, ? Size : Approx 14 1/4" wide, 12 5/8" tall 14 1/4 tall inc. Arch top, and 1 5/8 deep. The interior approx 13 1/4" x 11 1/2" and very shallow (only really suitable for medals or something of similar depth), heavy for size at just under 3Kg unpacked. Condition : Well used & solid condition with marks / wear and in need of a little cosmetic tlc : the crown is missing from the monogram (which appears to have been overlaid), the lock has no key so I don't know if working, and there are numerous scattered small bruises and dents to the woodwork all over, particularly along the edges (last photos).
