I DO NOT KNOW HOW OLD IT IS OR WHERE IT WAS MADE, THERE ARE NO MARKINGS. IT IS VERY WELL MADE, SOLID AND HEAVY, WEIGHING JUST UNDER 17 POUNDS.
THE GLASS IS INTACT WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS. THERE IS ONE LONG BRASS PIANO HINGE ON THE 16-3/4 INCH END THAT GOES FROM SIDE TO SIDE. ON THE OPPOSITE END IS A HANDLE WITH HASP WHICH ALLOWS FOR A SMALL LOCK TO SECURE THE CASE AND FOR EASY OPENING. ADDITIONALLY, THE CASE IS LINED WITH A DARK BLUE VELVET IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS IT WAS COMPLETELY COVERED WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF MATERIAL WHEN I FOUND IT. THIS VINTAGE DISPLAY CASE IS IN OVERALL, VERY NICE CONDITION.
HOWEVER, ON THE LONG SIDE OF THE LID IS A SLIGHT WARP TO THE WOOD WHICH DOES NOT AFFECT IT'S CLOSURE OR ABILITY TO LOCK. PLEASE LOOK / ZOOM OVER THE NUMEROUS PICTURES I HAVE TAKEN OF DIFFERENT ANGLES THAT SHOW THE FEATURES OF THIS UNIQUE, HEAVY, VINTAGE, WELL MADE CASE. We sell mostly Vintage and Antique goods, if you are expecting items to be in brand new condition, then most of the items we sell are not for you.
Vintage and Antique items are very rarely in absolute pristine or new condition, they are what they are, older and in used condition. Please use the photos to help judge content and condition If you are unsure in any way please ask.
