Antique Printers Tray Type Case 86 Compartment 12 Point Letterpress Wood Display

  

Antique wooden printer's type case/tray featuring 86 individual compartments in various sizes. This piece was originally used in a print shop for organizing and storing movable type. Evidence of an old paper label on the front indicated "12 Point, " suggesting the case previously held 12-point printing type. Wonderful authentic age and character throughout, including darkened wood, surface wear, staining, old residue, small areas of wood loss and other imperfections consistent with decades of use.
