Vintage 19th Century John Clark, Jr & Co. John Clark, Jr & Co. Was formed in Scotland in the 1820s. The company began manufacturing in East Newark, New Jersey about 1870.

In 1883 the American subsidiary became Clark Mile-End Spool Cotton Company. Therefore, we believe this case is pre1883.

Hinged wood lid has a wood and metal(steel) center insert. There are 18 slots 1 apart inside which apparently once held dividers for spools of thread.

The case shows the wear and tear of age and a wood chip is missing from one corner of the lid. Use the close-up feature to examine it closely.
