This chest is made of Solid Mahogany. 16" x 11" x 3 1/2, (40.6 x 28 x 8.9cm) and weighs 5 3/4 pounds, (2.6kg).

The exterior stain is Black Cherry to highlight the beautiful grains. The finish is protected with up to 15 coats of hand rubbed Polyurethane. The routing on the exterior is a tribute to the skills of woodworkers more than 50 years ago. The Splined Miter and Bare-Faced Housing joint methods of joinery was used in the construction.

The hardware is original or replaced with the vintage equivalent or new. This case was originally built in the USA in the 1940s or 1950s for the Wm. Inside you will find a custom built-by-hand storage system designed to safely store and display valuable fountain pen collections. The interior fabric is Ultra-Soft Camel Faux Suede.

This case safely accommodates 24 pens. The pen slots are 7 1/4 long and 7/8 wide on centers.

The medallion in the padded interior of the lid is the Semi-Precious gemstone Chatoyant aka Tigers Eye. This beautifully finished attractive piece of furniture would be a handsome addition to any Office, Den, Living Room, Study, etc. And would make a great gift for your favorite collector. I could not find a quality, attractive and functional pen chest at an affordable price so I make my own.
