Letterpress Type Case Vintage Print Tray Wood Printers Drawer Curios Display

  

Hello this is a Vintage Wooden Letterpress Printers Tray stripped of year of dust and dirt, finished with a coat from the oil of British Rapeseed to enhance and preserve the dark coloured wood. The lining is filled with a map-like pattern wonderfully created by the stains, marks and wooden discolourations from the printer it had collected through the years. All of the 147 box components equally measuring 4cm x 3cm are in good condition in general with minimal signs of wear (chips) due to its age but nothing that affects usage. This tray has an embossed makers mark in the middle and what looks like MILLER RICHARD who according to my research are based in Edinburgh and manufactured metal type from 1809 to 1952 making this tray at least 69 years old.
