It has two drawers on its back side each with dividers that create 25 smaller individual compartments (50 total compartments), large enough to hold the various Esterbrook Nibs in their small carton boxes. The Age of This Box Based on Paul Hoban's timeline (as described in his excellent book on Esterbrook pens) this Box must have been crafted between 1948, when the "Re-New" Points lost the hyphen and became simply "Renew" and 1952 when more nib styles/numbers became available. A The Box : On top of the Box t is a chart showing all 22 Nibs available at the time, it is a transitional piece from the 21 nib period to the 32 nib period latter on.

Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Manifold, Broad and Stub. On top of the chart it reads: ESTERBROOK Renew-Points for Esterbrook Fountain Pens. The Right Point For The Way You Write! The chart is covered and protected with a heavy duty, very high quality transparent plastic which is in remarkably good condition for its age. On the front side of the Box, the side that would face the Customer, it would have written "Renew-Points for Esterbrook Fountain Pens". I did not touch up the faded paint because I wanted to keep it in original condition.

The box has a lot of character especially with the ink stains on the box. Please look at my photos listed above for additional information.
