Antique Butterfly Taxidermy Mounted Framed Collection Heavy Wood Display Case

  

We offer for your consideration this antique Butterfly Taxidermy Framed collection. This heavy framed display case butterfly Taxidermy collection came to us through an estate sale. It looks like something straight out of an old museum, or movie set. I wish we could tell all the names of the specimens displayed here, but we do not have these expertise.

There are nineteen specimens, one of the smaller ones, near the lower right corner looks a bit degraded, and the one at the center bottom shows some damage to its right wing. But the rest look to be in very good condition for their ages. The frame is quarter sawn oak, it has a very no-nonsense Art & Crafts feel to it.. The back of the frame display case is covered in wood slats held in place with stout wood screws. There is a heavy wire harness to hang this case with.

This display frame measures approximately 22 3/4 inches wide, 18 3/4 inches tall & 1 1/2 inches deep. The display window measures 19 1/8th inches wide by 15 1/4 inches tall. This display frame weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. Please see the pictures for an idea of the details and condition of this piece.

This Butterfly Taxidermy collection is a wonderful piece. It has a very old world charm to it.
