The top of the box has a dome glass top attached to a wooden bezel type base that is hinged onto the lower wood bottom. When opened, dark blue velvet fabric covers the flat surface of the base with the fabric appearing to be original to the display. The display base sits on three flattened round bronze feet.
Hinge is tight and glass top opens and closes correctly. Measures about 4 1/2" high (as shown) with the glass dome measuring 2 3/4" high and 3 in diameter. Base measures 5 1/8 in diameter. This great little treasure display is in excellent condition with no noted flaws other than the aged worm holes and a small hole in the bottom of the blue fabric where an item was most likely stabilized (such as a stand for pocket watch or other hanging item).
